Malaysian permanent resident status can be revoked. There are activities from which the PR holder is banned from participating such as engaging in political activities. When a PR holder breaks the rules which govern ownership of PR status in Malaysia, the Malaysian government has the right to revoke the PR status of any permanent resident who has violated these rules. Therefore, permanent resident status, in certain circumstances prescribed by the government, can be revoked.
