Hi Arif,

Yes, a practicing solicitor can be the director of the company but not hold any shares.

A director is tasked with the responsibilities of managing daily business operations of the company, while a company shareholder collectively own the company through their shares.

A person can hold the position as a shareholder and director or either one.

If you have any further inquiries between the two position, do contact us at to clarify!
