Hi, can a practicing solicitors become a director or appointed be a director in a company but he/she is not holding any shares?

Yes, a practicing solicitor can be the director of the company but not hold any shares.

A director is tasked with the responsibilities of managing daily business operations of the company, while a company shareholder collectively own the company through their shares.

A person can hold the position as a shareholder and director or either one.
